Ego vs Love

 This is as ancient, as it could get.

From ancient monkeys, quarreling and screeching for one last banana, to modern people.

I am curious why was all that mess and fuss in everyday conversation?

Why do we have the urge to dominate the conversation with people we love or who are close to us?

"Vanity. My favorite sin."-said Pacino in "Devil's Advocate".And he was right.

When two people meet, and one is more powerful than the other, vanity takes over.

The one feels entitled to belittle the other, so he could feel better, smarter, and special. And that ruins relationships.

"Humility is the opposite of ego. It's the state of not thinking you are better than others. It's also the willingness to deal with things that come up in recovery"

People need to compare themselves with others. But, when they do that, others can't help but feel smaller.

So, what can cure this awful feeling, that alienates people?

Love.

Solely love.

And shutting off that reptilian brain of ours, that screams, Me, me, me!

Today Mood:Tree in the wind

 Watching the trees,

just watching the trees,

from my window, so pale,

The branches are moving,

like moody dancers;

They are free,

they are so free,

how they let the wind

change their shapes,

moving back and forth,

so rapidly,

so free...

Independent

 I lately grasp one important fact about my musical taste: It was most of the time alternative music.

The word alternative comes from (source, Google)

noun. : music that is produced by performers who are outside the musical mainstream, that is typically regarded as more eclectic, original, or challenging than most popular music (such as conventional rock, pop, or country), and that is often distributed by independent record labels.

And there is another word: "Indie". I often used it, but till now, I didn't know what it meant(somehow I linked it with Indians :).

But no.

It is derived from "Independent".

What a beautiful, fantasy word, and meaning!

People are striving to be independent, to get freedom in life, because the whole conception of this world is to be enslaved, codependent, especially financially, and it became exhausting to live like that.

I guess indie music represents that rebell voice where something can be free, different, like it should be.

Musically speaking,if observed, alternative music has sponatneous rhytms, unexpected harmonies, and evolving melodies. It doesnt follow the stereotypical musical patterns of commercial but rather has its own unpredictable flow.It is spontaneous and unique.

Phrase :"The music selection is soul reflection" is really true.

How to not to get job on internet

After months of searching for some kind, any kind of job on the internet, I felt, well, exhausted.

All those shiny commercials, promising jobs, salary, money.

Not to mention all the grandiose titles on how to stay positive and grow, management, management, and engagement.

Well, I did engage, a lot. Job hunting can be tedious :

Creating cv, and resume, learning new skills, adapting, etc... It's like easier to go hunting in wild, for some animal, than this.

I searched and searched. Of course, I ignored jobs with "Senior Developer" and "Marketing Management adapter "(Irony).

Are those some kind of robots?

So, I turned to myself and wrote. It isn't really hard, and nobody will ignore your application.

Out of millions, tons of titles "How to get an internet job", I decided to make a U-turn: "How not to get an internet job". In three steps.

First step: Don't google "How to get a job on the internet".

Second: If you are not some kind of CEO, how do you think you will get a job?

Third: Practice mindfulness

If you are still struggling, feel free to comment or email me, I would gladly consult you on your journey.

Still, he gives me hope:

Post- Holiday Blues:Reality

Returning from holiday always makes me a bit blue.
That freedom, excitement with good company and laughs, suddenly is over, in a glance.

The washing machine and the energy-efficient machines are waiting for their turn, yet I am not energy efficient...
The tasks - small ones, and the big ones are waiting.

Coming back to reality reminds me of the things I was hoping to escape from, just for one day.

So, I googled it, what should I do?

What should you do with those emotions?

Well, acknowledge them. Take a deep breath, relax, and rest.

Yes, rest.

Anyway, the forecaster said that spring will be late this year.

Love, intimacy and closseness

 It is hard to explain the meaning of love because it is a very subjective experience, yet universal.

So many books, music, films, and thoughts are occupied with the theme. There are many interpretations, feelings, and beliefs

So,  nobody can tell what love is, until he experiences it.

Every experience is different, though.

There are many trials and errors, many miscommunications, and, ultimately disappointments.

Lots of wasted time.

But, that time, doesn't have to be wasted, if somebody, grows, and learns what he doesn't want.

And, unfortunately, that's the process of learning, through trial and error.

Knowing what you don't want, not the other way around- I learned the hard way.

And it was worth it.

Not Bad for a human

 Soooo...We have all heard by now about this mighty tool.
When my colleague from work told me about it, I was thrilled to try it out. And it was awesome!
Most of the time.
It solved my daily problems:Grammar checking, best anti-aging products, math discoveries, for my daughter's homework that needed to be done asap, in a Word document, at midnight, and solutions for a hernia.
I even asked him what I never asked anyone, and he calmed me, with a very reasonable answer.
Just.Wow.Looks like they outperformed us, using our data and knowledge.

So It opened many fears and questions:Will robots replace humans? In many aspects, probably.
And can we coexist with them?

I certainly would love to.

If they are like Bishop.

Today mood :nostalgia shapes our music taste

   Recent studies have shown that music that catered to our tastes and preferences as adolescents has greater power over our emotions than music we listen to at any other point in our lives.  This is because our auditory system “binds” us to the music we hear as teenagers, a connection that stays with us throughout the remainder of our life.  This means that the cultural phenomenon of nostalgia has clear neurological roots—other music just doesn’t please our ears as much as the sounds heard during the development stages of adolescence.
          It is obvious that listening to music can elicit powerful emotions, mixed feelings, and memories by engaging our auditory, premotor, parietal, and prefrontal cortex.  PET and fMRI brain imaging techniques show that the release of chemicals that make us feel good after music-listening depends largely on our personal preference.  Listening to our favourite music (versus listening to music we are impartial to) releases a greater amount of dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin.  But how do we come to prefer certain kinds of music over others in the first place?  The most rapid neurological development to our brains happens between the ages of 12 and 22.  When listening to songs at that age that we like, our brains make strong neural connections to it, consequently creating strong memories about the events associated with those songs.  Due to an excessive amount of pubertal growth hormones the memories are also full of heightened emotion, and those songs/events are perceived to be overly important.
          The author also notes that musical preference developed in our teenage years is closely tied with our social lives.  Adolescence is often a time for establishing one’s identity, and music is one way of discovering and expressing it.  This, in combination with a phenomenon where autobiographical memories are disproportionately remembered for events in adolescence and early adulthood called the “reminiscence bump” (Rathbone et al. 2008; Krumhansl & Zupnick 2013), causes music that we are drawn to as teenagers to become a part of our self-image for life.

How to prove that you are a human?

"We're really sorry about this, but it's getting harder and harder to tell the difference between humans and bots these days"

Now, this really made me laugh, and i just had to share it.
And then, usualy goes some kind of assasment where you have to solve captcha, mark all squares with bicycles, etc..
My God.Really its hard these days to prove you are a human.Especially when our today's society works against humans, it seems.Like most humans use other humans for any kind of profit or self interest, and that trend is getting bigger and bigger.
Like that old Latin saying, "Homo homini lupus est".
In the internet, you actually can prove that you are a human, but in the real world?
And, if you act like one, will that benefit you, or slap you in the face?
Latter, i guess.
Maybe robots should exchange humans, because its becoming less and less human, and more something selfish, diplomatic, and cold.

Or, maybe, we should became like robots, just to survive and adapt.

If-poem For Living A Life

                                              If

If you can keep your head when all about you
   Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
   But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
   Or, being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don’t give way to hating,
   And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
   If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
   And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
   Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
   And stoop and build ’em up with wornout tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
   And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
   And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
   To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
   Except the Will which says to them: “Hold on”;

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
   Or walk with kings—nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
   If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run—
   Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

If you can keep your head when all about you    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;

My Life Mantra's

I often catch myself repeating certain phrases, which help me in difficult moments. These are called mantras, like magical words that truly empower a person.

"Use your word impeccably" - This mantra is from "The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz (an excellent guidebook, by the way). One's word should not be devalued or made cheap, as a person is valued by their word.

"So what" - This is a mantra my doctor often used to advise me when I was too anxious. It is excellent for people who worry too much, especially about trivial matters.

"Speak softly and carry a dog with you" - This is my favorite, although it promotes passive aggression. However, it should beshould be used as a necessary means.

Dont take anything personally

"Don't take anything personally"
- Again, Miguel de Ruiz. This is the most difficult for me to apply, although it is the most important for keeping a peaceful mind.

Funny SEO:Preparing to crawl...

 Seo once was some strange word to me, like mumbo-jumbo.

A little bit frightening,to be honest, when I started blogging(like spiders that, once, i was afraid of)

And he was,everywhere, like some magic key,that opens every door.

And I just didnt understand that secretive yet powerful meaning of this word:SEO.

It was beyond my comprehension.

So, I waited, and give up my work for some years...

I did learn alot, and decided to finaly investigate it.

And, out of the blue, I was so curious and intrigued by it, starting to realise, a little..

It was like a creation of God, only in internet world.

So many connections from everywhere, and so evolutive...

Should I write a song about SEO? Nah.

Just wanted to say, dont be afraid of seo, its like nature force of evolution.

Preparing to crawl..

Murphy is my God

Murphy's law says that everything that can go wrong will go wrong ...👀

Someone once used this phrase, and ever since it has been repeating in my head like a mantra. Often, there comes a day when I believe one hundred percent that man must be my God because during the day, everything happens that unequivocally points to his existence.

 Then I wish the vacuum cleaner had a longer cord so I could vacuum an unreachable spot where, lo and behold, a spider is crouching. And I consider these animals, very useful in nature, to be enemy number one. Now I know what they would immediately advise me: "Buy a vacuum cleaner with a longer cord!" No chance. The spider would then be further away. Amazing, isn't it? You have to believe it.

And then, when you spend the whole day daydreaming about a cherry cake that you deserve after strenuous exercise at the gym, and a person with diabetes eats it.

When you urgently need your phone but the battery has run out.

A million situations like this.

Alanis sang something similar: "It's like rain on your wedding day" and called it irony. However, as a smart radio host pointed out, it's not irony but a paradox.

Do you believe in Murphy's Law?

I do, God forgive me.

Towanda!

A few days ago, I realised i was 44. Meh. I wasn't particularly excited about it, but it's just a fact. Even Johnny's lyrics don't help anymore: "I don't look pretty, I don't careee..." Or that phrase "Age is just a number"...

 Okay, I'm not old, let's not exaggerate. But yesterday, a girl addressed me using "vous" (formal "you") even though I was using casual talk of today's generation.

And then there's my child. My little monster asked me yesterday, "How old are you, Mom?" I answered with a bit of apprehension, expecting an honest response from a child. "Oh my gosh, Mom!" they exclaimed, laughing and falling to the floor in shock.

Phew.

My own child.

Then they comforted me: "You're not old man, Mom!

God.It looks like getting older is some kind of disease.

When I came to my senses, I realized that the old saying "you're as young as you feel" isn't just a cliché.

Now I feel like Kate.

Wonderful.

International women's Day

On the occasion of International Women's Day, I have long had a certain unease, contrary to the holiday.

I used to worry about whether I would be given carnations at work and how many (once it was actually done, the deputy director drew them out of a large cardboard box). And then there are those plants (because women, you know, like to repot them...). None of the flowers from those plants ever survived for me.

All that artificial pomp...

Actually, it's a slap in the face to women. Does that mean they are only given gifts and respect on that one day?

And where is the sincerity when someone gives something out of social convention, because it's expected?

If they really want to show their concern, they should give women a day off.

This reminded me of a good old joke "I don't want gum, I want change" (which originated when saleswomen gave chewing gum to children instead of change).

I don't want carnations, I want a day off!

Do I wanna know?🤔

Good God, when I heard this Verse, it was like the revelation.

I mean, whole My life i wanted to learn about everything and anything, the future was so bright, that i Had to wear shades...
I searched for the truth, for the meaning of everything, yet I wasnt thrilled for what i found.

They didnt tell me that.

I didnt have user manual to swim trough this, but, hey, no one does,right?
Still, i Had strange feeeling in My Gut, that, somehow, some People Are well- equipped for life(or are they just corrupted?)

Anyway, i find myself, as time goes by, that maybe, just maybe i dont want to know.

Do I?

The king is naked!

 Earlier, I found this word in books and it sounded "aristocratic" to me, like some nobles or some special breed.

My mistake.

I understood the true meaning of the word (difficultly) when my rigid, neighbor sold his house to whom else but the "nouveaux riches."

Where does such a phrase come from in the first place? Often nomen est omen, I firmly believe that names can say a lot.

So, the "nouveaux riches" arrived, and became something. "Nouveaux riches".

But barely.

Whether because of the way they came to it or because of their origin which they are ashamed of, they become pseudoclass. I don't know.

But they represent an interesting social phenomenon:

Someone who has seen an urban way of life somewhere and paid everything that can be paid, just in case.

After all, asphalt is a symbol of the city and urbanism, and where will I park two pairs of cars?

It doesn't go on the grass, even though I'm in the countryside.

Once upon a time, the "nouveaux riches" had style, and talked about business in special cabinets, while sipping some good drink, slowly, leisurely.

Today, such jobs are done on the terrace in the evening hours, on the mobile phone, for everyone to hear.

Because important conversations are being held, and it needs to be public, for everyone to hear. (Like on a bus, when someone on the phone says that there is dinner in the oven-Like anyone wanted that info.)

Today's "nouveaux riches" are therefore loud, they have business conversations, "I'll take care of it", I"ll get that sorted for you, brother", etc.

And when the summer season comes, they jump into the pools, like whales, loudly.

So, these are the "nouveaux riches".

But, class Can not be bought.

“Class” is not connected to wealth. It is the steadfast consideration of and demonstrated respect toward those whose company we keep. There are many “classless” rich people whose behavior is shabby.

That reminded me of a famous Andersen story about a king and his "new clothes".And anyone who doesn't see these "divine" clothes, was stupid.

But the honest little killed shouted: "The king is naked!"

The king is naked
